Shinka Funding: Dublin Adtech Startup Raises €1.9M Seed Round

Dublin adtech startup Shinka raises €1.9M in seed funding backed by Irish angels and Enterprise Ireland to expand its DOOH and CTV platform.

Shinka funding has reached €1.9 million after the Dublin-based advertising technology company closed a seed round backed by Irish angel investors and Enterprise Ireland. The investment will support product development, recruitment and international expansion in the fast-growing digital out-of-home advertising market.

Announced on 5 November 2026, the round was supported legally by Crowley Millar. Shinka said the capital will help strengthen integrations with demand partners and accelerate its planned expansion into the United States and Asia-Pacific.

Shinka funding targets digital advertising growth

Shinka provides an independent mediation platform for video advertising across connected television (CTV) and digital out-of-home (DOOH) inventory. Its technology allows media owners to connect multiple demand sources and use real-time auctions to select the highest-paying opportunity for each advertising impression.

That model is designed to address a major technology gap in DOOH, where advertising inventory is still frequently managed through legacy systems, manual bookings and fragmented reporting. By automating the process, Shinka aims to help screen operators improve revenue while giving advertisers greater visibility over campaign delivery.

  • Real-time auction-based mediation for DOOH and CTV
  • Connections to multiple demand partners
  • Automated inventory management for media owners
  • Transparent reporting for advertisers

The company cited forecasts that digital formats will account for 49% of worldwide out-of-home advertising revenue in 2026, highlighting the opportunity for more flexible programmatic infrastructure.

Dublin startup prepares for international expansion

Founded in 2024, Shinka was established by Kieran Greene, who previously spent seven years at Google developing experience in stakeholder management, data-led decision-making and operational efficiency. The company’s platform is intended to make programmatic advertising more accessible to media owners while improving the commercial performance of digital screens.

Shinka’s customers include Gas Station TV, known as GSTV. The new funding is expected to help the company expand its team, deepen platform integrations and enter new international markets.

Enterprise Ireland described Shinka as an example of an Irish high-potential start-up with global ambitions and specialist founder expertise. The agency’s support reflects the wider role of Irish enterprise development in helping technology companies scale beyond the domestic market.

Why mediation matters in DOOH

Mediation has already become an established part of the mobile and connected-TV advertising ecosystems. Shinka is applying the same principle to out-of-home media, where digital screens are expanding but trading infrastructure can remain dependent on manual processes.

For media owners, automated competition between demand sources may improve yield and reduce operational blind spots. For advertisers, real-time reporting can provide a clearer picture of where and how campaigns are delivered.

What happens next for Shinka?

The €1.9 million Shinka funding round gives the company resources to scale its workforce, expand technical partnerships and pursue opportunities in the US and APAC regions. Its progress will be closely watched as advertisers and media owners seek more transparent, automated ways to trade digital screen inventory.

Key takeaway: Shinka funding marks a significant step for the Dublin adtech company as it brings real-time mediation and auction-based trading to the rapidly evolving DOOH and CTV markets.
