The Digital Hub is combining community culture, digital creativity and innovation in Dublin 8, with a busy programme of events and opportunities announced for 2026. From Culture Night activities to a new AI residency, the campus continues to connect technology, education and the local Liberties community.
The Digital Hub brings culture and technology to Dublin 8
Located in the historic Liberties, The Digital Hub campus is hosting a range of public events linked to Culture Night 2026. Visitors can explore electronic music, photography and creative technology through activities taking place across the campus.
Electronic music and synthesiser showcase
Bloop Groop Dublin will host an evening dedicated to synthesiser history and live hardware performance in Studio 2 at 10–13 Thomas Street. The programme includes demonstrations, practical sound exploration and performances by resident artists. The event is designed for everyone, from people discovering electronic music to experienced musicians.
Dublin Camera Club exhibition
Dublin Camera Club will present members’ portfolios at the Digital Depot building. The exhibition highlights photography from people of different ages and experience levels. The club, which is celebrating its 80th year, supports photographers through exhibitions, talks, competitions, workshops and courses.
The Digital Hub’s cultural programme reflects the wider role of creative spaces in Ireland’s capital, where community organisations, artists, educators and technology companies increasingly work together.
The Digital Hub opens applications for AI for Communities residency
A major new opportunity is the four-month “AI for Communities – Empowering People Through AI” residency. The initiative aims to develop and pilot a community-focused approach to artificial intelligence learning and engagement.
Applications are invited from individuals or multidisciplinary teams with experience in areas such as:
- Artificial intelligence literacy and technology
- Community engagement and education
- Digital innovation
- Social innovation
The selected resident designer or facilitator will receive a fee of €12,000, inclusive of VAT. Applications must be submitted by 23:59 Irish time on Friday, 9 October 2026. The project places practical, accessible AI education at the centre of community development.

Learning, community and heritage at The Digital Hub
Beyond headline events, The Digital Hub supports learning programmes for young people and adults, while its member organisations contribute to the creative and technology ecosystem. The campus has also continued its annual pear tree community harvest beside St Patrick’s Tower, bringing together local groups, NCAD participants, businesses and campus organisations.
