Why Irish Companies Are Turning America’s AI Buildout Into a Growth Opportunity

Irish companies are expanding in the US as AI infrastructure investment drives demand for engineering, construction, technology and healthcare expertise.

Irish companies are securing new contracts, partnerships and expansion plans in the United States as the rapid buildout of artificial intelligence infrastructure increases demand for data centres, power systems, engineering and specialist technology. The developments were announced during an Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland trade mission led by Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke.

The mission brought 30 Enterprise Ireland client companies to Texas and Southern California, where firms are pursuing opportunities across high-tech construction, semiconductors, healthcare, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing and enterprise software. The announcements offer a clear example of how business news Ireland is increasingly shaped by international expansion and technology-led demand.

A major US expansion for LPI Group

One of the most significant announcements came from Dublin-headquartered LPI Group, which plans to create 250 jobs in the United States over the next five years. The company supplies lightning protection, grounding and surge-protection systems to data centres, renewable-energy projects and other critical infrastructure.

LPI Group’s expansion reflects the growing importance of electrical resilience as data-centre operators and technology companies invest in AI capacity. Its existing UL and IEC certifications will support the delivery of its electrical-safety solutions to customers across the US.

Irish expertise meets rising AI infrastructure demand

AI infrastructure requires substantial investment in electricity, cooling, construction, automation and digital systems. This is creating an opening for Irish businesses with specialist expertise in engineering and complex project delivery.

Enterprise Ireland’s high-tech construction sector includes more than 180 companies, supports over 35,000 jobs and generated €6.62 billion in global exports in 2025. Approximately €2.1 billion of that activity was connected to data-centre work.

A Dallas roundtable will bring together companies including H&M&V Engineering, LPI Group, ControlSoft, SilverBack Staffing, Ralco, GridBeyond, CameraMatics and Cora Systems. Discussions will focus on US requirements for power, engineering, workforce systems, digital platforms and specialist construction.

New partnerships across technology and healthcare

The trade mission also highlighted a broad range of commercial developments:

  • Akara is partnering with Servicon to roll out room sensors and AI analytics across eight to nine hospitals in Southern California.
  • SilverBack Staffing has agreed a partnership with Texas-based 21st Century Ops.
  • Ralco will support US projects involving H&V Engineering and LPI Group with its AI-enabled workforce compliance platform.
  • Enovus Labs is contributing thermal-management expertise to Skylark Wireless technology.
  • ControlSoft is opening an innovation centre in Dundalk focused on AI, automation and semiconductor software.
  • Madcraft plans to create 20 jobs across Ireland and the US while expanding its digital transformation and AI consultancy.

Other companies announcing US activity include Combilift, Kefron AP, Cora Systems, Sisterly, Harmony Medical and W4 Games. Their projects span materials handling, accounts-payable automation, portfolio intelligence, wellness products, cardiovascular devices and gaming technology.
