Division 1A gets underway with holders St Mary’s College travelling to Lansdowne in an all-Dublin contest. The champions face an immediate test against a familiar opponent, while Lansdowne will be eager to use home advantage to start the campaign strongly.
Old Wesley are also preparing for a landmark return to the top tier. Having earned promotion, they will play in Division 1A for the first time in more than 29 years when they visit Clontarf. It is another Dublin derby, but the occasion will carry particular importance for Old Wesley as they begin a new chapter at the highest level.
Cork Constitution host last season’s semi-finalists Terenure College at Temple Hill in one of the round’s standout fixtures. Ballynahinch welcome UCD to Ballymacarn Park, while Young Munster and Old Belvedere meet at Tom Clifford Park.

Promotion ambitions take centre stage in Division 1B
There is also a major first for MU Barnhall, who travel to Blackrock College for their debut in Division 1 of the Energia All-Ireland League. Their opening assignment will provide an early measure of how quickly they can adapt to the higher standard.
Dublin University begin another promotion campaign away to City of Armagh, while Instonians visit Garryowen. The two sides were among the leading teams in last season’s promotion race, adding extra interest to their meeting.
Highfield and Nenagh Ormond contest an all-Munster fixture at Woodleigh Park. Naas, meanwhile, host UCC at Forenaughts in another match with plenty of regional edge.
Returns and rivalries shape Division 2A
Division 2A opens at 1.30pm with Shannon hosting Queen’s University. Cashel and UL Bohemian meet in an all-Munster clash at Spafield, while Galwegians return to the division for the first time in seven years with a trip to Dungannon.
The remaining fixtures see Ballymena welcome Greystones to Eaton Park and Wanderers travel west to face Galway Corinthians. For several clubs, the opening round is an opportunity to establish momentum before the league table begins to take shape.

Bective Rangers and Old Crescent meet at Energia Park for the first time since 2017. Buccaneers host Bruff in a long-awaited rematch dating back to the 2012/13 season, while Dolphin face Enniscorthy.
