Popeyes Dundrum: Fourth Irish Restaurant to Open on 11 September 2026

Popeyes chicken is expanding its Irish presence once again, with the popular Louisiana-born fast-food brand preparing to open its fourth venue at Dundrum Town Centre on Friday, 11 September 2026. The launch adds another major name to Dublin’s busy dining scene and gives fans a new option when deciding where to eat Dublin.

The opening follows a strong Irish rollout for Popeyes. The brand first arrived in Blanchardstown in June, followed by a restaurant at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in August. A further location operates at Applegreen Midway in Laois, making the Dundrum venue the company’s fourth Irish restaurant.

Popeyes Dundrum brings its popular chicken menu to south Dublin

Visitors to Popeyes Dundrum will be able to choose from the chain’s signature range of fried chicken and Southern-inspired sides. The menu is expected to include its distinctive “Shatter Crunch” chicken, the well-known Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings, Tenders and Chicken Wraps.

Customers can also look forward to Popeyes Biscuits with Cajun Gravy, alongside other menu favourites. The combination of crispy chicken, spicy options and American-style sides has helped the brand build a strong following internationally and attract attention since its Irish arrival.

For anyone researching Dublin restaurants, the new venue is particularly convenient for shoppers and visitors to the south Dublin area. It also strengthens the growing choice of casual dining in Dublin, adding a recognisable fast-food option to the restaurants and cafés already available at Dundrum Town Centre.

Launch-day giveaways announced

Popeyes’ previous Irish opening in Blanchardstown attracted hundreds of chicken fans, with reports of a queue lasting 26 hours. The Dundrum launch will also feature special rewards for early arrivals:

  • The first three people in the queue will receive free Chicken Sandwiches for a year.
  • The first 50 customers will receive exclusive Popeyes merchandise.
  • The first 100 customers will receive a free Chicken Sandwich.

The incentives are likely to appeal to devoted fans looking for the latest food news Ireland has to offer, particularly those keen to be among the first customers at a new restaurant opening.

Tom Crowley, Popeyes UK and Ireland CEO, said the brand had received an “unbelievable reception” in Ireland and described the Dundrum opening as a proud moment for the team. He also highlighted the company’s plans to bring its Southern hospitality and signature Chicken Sandwich to Dundrum shoppers.

What the expansion means for Dublin’s food scene

Popeyes’ continued growth reflects the popularity of internationally recognised casual dining brands in Ireland. Alongside independent restaurants, established chains are helping broaden the choice for people searching for places to eat Ireland, quick lunches and accessible takeaway options.

The new venue may also appeal to visitors comparing the best cheap eats Dublin, fast-food restaurants and takeaway Dublin choices. While it is not a traditional Irish food destination, its arrival adds another layer to the city’s increasingly diverse food scene.
