New European Ski Hotels and Lodges Set to Open for Winter 2026–2027

Europe’s ski season will welcome a new collection of hotels, lodges and renovated resorts in winter 2026–2027. From Cortina d’Ampezzo and Verbier to Morzine and the Austrian Alps, the latest openings combine slopeside access with wellness facilities, family accommodation and upgraded dining.

The new European ski hotels reflect the continuing appeal of the continent’s mountain destinations. Alongside the Alps, travellers can choose from ski areas in the Dolomites, Pyrenees, Scandinavia, the Balkans and Central and Eastern Europe.

New European ski hotels opening in winter 2026–2027

Fahrenheit Seven Les Menuires, France

Fahrenheit Seven is scheduled to open its Les Menuires property on 11 December 2026. It will become the brand’s third Alpine address, following existing hotels in Val Thorens and Courchevel.

Located in the Preyerand district, the hotel is planned to offer direct access to the Les 3 Vallées ski area. Facilities are expected to include a ski boutique, bar, restaurants, terrace and indoor pool, giving visitors a convenient base for both skiing and après-ski activities.

The First Cortina, by The Pavilions, Italy

The First Cortina, by The Pavilions, is expected to open in early December 2026 on Corso Italia in the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo. The property will feature 76 rooms and suites, combining a central town location with access to the surrounding Dolomites.

Selected suites are planned to include private wellness facilities and terraces with mountain views. Dining will include Zuma, a contemporary Japanese restaurant, and Velo, an Italian concept. Guests will also have access to a dedicated ski room and the REVĪVŌ Spa.

The Green Resort, Zillertal, Austria

The Green Resort in Uderns is due to welcome guests from December 2026. Its main attraction is a large wellness complex covering 3,300 square metres indoors and outdoors, with pools, saunas and steam baths.

The resort is also planning a seven-night winter package that includes accommodation, meals, a six-day Zillertal Super Ski Pass for each guest and wellness treatments. Package details and availability should be checked directly with the property before booking.

The Ski Lodge, Verbier, Switzerland

The Ski Lodge is scheduled to open in Verbier in December 2026. The 36-room boutique hotel will be close to Place Centrale, placing guests near the resort’s restaurants, shops and mountain transport.

A spa is planned with an indoor swimming pool, cold plunge, sauna, hammam and relaxation area. The hotel’s bar, The Listening Room, is expected to welcome both hotel guests and outside visitors.

Schiefergut Family Resort, Flachau, Austria

Families visiting Flachau will have a new accommodation option when Schiefergut Family Resort opens in December 2026. The four-star property is planned to contain 28 suites and chalets.

Its location will provide access to nearby ski lifts, the Snow Space Salzburg area, the Achter Jet lift and cross-country skiing routes, making it suitable for guests seeking more than downhill skiing.

Renovated ski hotels returning to the slopes

Hôtel Le Tremplin, Morzine

Hôtel Le Tremplin in Morzine is set to reopen fully for the 2026–2027 ski season after a three-year renovation. The property will add 13 self-contained holiday suites, following the return of its bar, restaurant and après-ski terrace during the previous winter.

The reopening gives visitors another centrally located option in Morzine, a gateway to the wider Portes du Soleil ski region.

Garance Hotel & Spa, Morzine

The former Les Airelles hotel is scheduled to return in December 2026 under the name Garance Hotel & Spa. The four-star property will be part of the Mont-Blanc Collection and is located close to the ski lifts and Portes du Soleil slopes.

Plans include 65 rooms, a brasserie, cocktail bar and dedicated areas for children and teenagers. Wellness facilities are expected to include a swimming pool, Nordic spa, treatment rooms and spaces for yoga and fitness.

Les Gets prepares a new snowpark

Les Gets is also planning a mountain attraction for 2026, although it is not a hotel opening. The French resort will mark the 90th anniversary of its first ski lift with a new snowpark beneath the La Croix chairlift.

Designed for beginners, the facility will replace the existing mini boardercross course. Les Gets has planned a partial opening from 12 December 2026, subject to snow conditions, with full opening scheduled for 19 December. The season is currently expected to continue until 11 April 2027.

Luxury Alpine developments planned for later years

Several high-end projects are further away but are already attracting attention. Raffles Hotels & Resorts is scheduled to open its first Alpine resort in Courchevel 1850 in 2028. The resort sits within Les 3 Vallées, one of the world’s largest interconnected ski areas.

One&Only Resort and Private Homes is then planned for Courchevel 1850 in 2030. It will be the brand’s first resort in the French Alps.

What travellers should check before booking

Opening schedules for new ski hotels and mountain facilities can change because of construction, operating approvals, staffing or snow conditions. Travellers should confirm:

  • the official opening date and whether the property will operate for the full season;
  • which lifts, slopes and resort services will be available;
  • whether ski passes and wellness treatments are included in packages;
  • cancellation terms if opening plans change; and
  • transport connections from the nearest airport or railway station.

The range of new and renovated properties should give visitors more choice for winter 2026–2027, from family suites and self-contained accommodation to boutique hotels and large wellness resorts. For travellers planning a European ski break, the most important step is to verify each opening directly before committing to travel.
