Ireland’s startup ecosystem is gaining fresh momentum as Enterprise Ireland selects 18 high-growth companies for the latest Prep4Seed accelerator programme. The 12-week initiative is designed to help ambitious founders strengthen their businesses, prepare for investment and build the foundations for international growth.
The programme began in Cork on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, with its first in-person masterclass. It is being delivered nationally by four Irish Business Innovation Centres (BICs)—AxisBIC, Furthr, Propelor BIC and WestBIC—in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland.
Enterprise Ireland Prep4Seed programme supports investor readiness
The Enterprise Ireland-backed programme focuses on the practical skills founders need before approaching investors. Participants will take part in five specialist masterclasses delivered by the Irish BIC network, alongside six tailored one-to-one sessions with experienced BIC consultants.
These individual sessions are intended to help each company apply the lessons from the group workshops to its own commercial and investment strategy. Support will be tailored to the participants’ growth plans, funding needs and long-term ambitions.
Startups span technology, sustainability and consumer sectors
The selected cohort reflects the breadth of Ireland’s emerging enterprise base. Participating businesses operate across:
- Climate technology and sustainability
- Life sciences and health innovation
- Financial technology and digital technology
- Consumer food and beverages
- Beauty and consumer goods
Enterprise Ireland Head of Startups Conor O’Donovan said the organisation remains focused on helping ambitious startups scale and compete internationally. He described Prep4Seed as a programme that gives founders the tools and investor-readiness support required to take their next step.
Larry O’Donoghue, CEO of AxisBIC, said the programme helps early-stage companies develop the skills, confidence and foundations needed for investment and sustainable growth.
Investor Pitch Day will take place in Dublin
A key milestone will be an Investor Pitch Day at Enterprise Ireland’s Eastpoint office in Dublin on Wednesday, 18 November 2026. Before that event, participants will complete intensive pitch preparation designed to sharpen their presentations and communicate their investment propositions clearly.
The 18 selected companies are:

Why the programme matters for Ireland’s startup economy
Investor preparation can be critical for young companies seeking seed funding. By combining structured learning with individual guidance, Prep4Seed offers founders a route to test their business case, improve their pitch and better understand what investors look for.
The initiative also highlights the national role of Ireland’s BIC network. Through AxisBIC, Furthr, Propelor BIC and WestBIC, startups from different regions can access specialist advice while remaining connected to Enterprise Ireland’s wider internationalisation and scaling supports.

What happens next for the 18 selected startups?
The cohort will progress through the 12-week programme before presenting at the November Investor Pitch Day. Its next phase will involve applying masterclass learning, refining investment materials and working with BIC consultants on company-specific challenges.
For Ireland’s early-stage business community, the programme provides a snapshot of innovation emerging across health, sustainability, technology, food and consumer products. Its clear takeaway is that investor readiness is being treated as a practical, structured stage in the journey from promising idea to scalable company.
