Dublin traffic changes to know this week
Wyattville Link Road
A temporary 50km/h limit remains on the westbound Wyattville Link Road between Cherrywood Avenue and the Cherrywood M50 southbound slip road. The restriction supports construction of the underpass linked to the Beckett Link Road Project and is expected to remain until 30 November 2026, or until completion.
Mounttown Road Lower
A temporary one-way system continues on Mounttown Road Lower as part of the Dún Laoghaire Central Active Travel Scheme. Northbound traffic can travel from Kill Avenue towards York Road, while southbound motorists must use signed diversion routes. Local and pedestrian access will remain available, with the project expected to finish by the end of October.
Temporary event closure
Ballybrack Road, between Glencullen Adventure Park and Zipit at Tibradden, will close briefly on Thursday, 10 September, from 7pm to 8pm for a fundraising 5km race. Access to both attractions will be maintained.
Planned closures and longer-term restrictions
Gas Networks Ireland has applied to close Killiney Hill Road between Victoria Road and Military Road from 29 September to 1 October, 8am–6pm daily. Local and pedestrian access will be maintained. Objections must reach Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council by noon on 16 September.
A section of Silchester Road at Silchester Crescent is also proposed for closure on 9 October, from 10am to 4pm, for reinstatement works. Submissions must be made by noon on 23 September.
- Brides Glen Road remains closed until 26 September for watermain installation.
- Glenamuck Road remains closed between Brambledown and Enniskerry Road.
- Barnaslingan Lane is permanently closed to through traffic, although pedestrian and cycle access remains.
- Dodder Road Lower is permanently one-way westbound towards Ely’s Arch.
Roadworks across south Dublin
Stop/Go systems, temporary signals and lane restrictions may affect roads in Deansgrange, Churchtown, Mount Merrion, Blackrock, Clonskeagh, Sandyford, Stillorgan, Rathfarnham, Dundrum, Glasthule and Kilternan. Works include ducting, watermain repairs, wastewater upgrades, utility reinstatement and ESB cable connections.
Notable locations include Glasthule Road, where a three-way Stop/Go system is planned; Rochestown Avenue, where a five-way system will operate; and the M50 Junction 14 Link Road Scheme, where one lane of the Leopardstown Road roundabout will be closed during daytime hours until 11 September.
Active travel and school updates
Works continue on the Dodder Greenway at the Orwell Road and Braemor Park junctions. Improvements are substantially complete at Holy Cross National School, Carysfort National School and Holy Family National School. Temporary traffic lights remain at The Harold School, although pedestrian access will be maintained.
