Courts.ie Updates: Irish Courts Restore Judgments Service and Issue Hearing Notices

Courts.ie updates confirm a revised Waterford jury date, Dublin family law cancellations and the return of online judgments.

Courts.ie updates are providing important information for court users across Ireland, including changes to jury service, cancelled family law sittings and the restoration of online judgments. The latest notices affect people attending courts in Waterford, Dublin and Tullamore, while a separate update confirms that more than 22,000 judgments and determinations are available again.

Courts.ie updates: key notices for 29 October 2026

The Courts Service has published several operational notices for members of the public, legal professionals and people involved in ongoing proceedings.

  • Waterford jury service: Jury Panel 47, originally summoned for 2 November, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at 10.30am.
  • Dublin family law: District Court Family Law Courts 40 and 49 at Dolphin House are unable to sit on 29 October. The office remains open and is prioritising domestic violence applications.
  • Upcoming hearing changes: Motions listed for 14 October in Dublin Phoenix House Circuit Court Family have been moved to 10 February 2027.

Anyone affected by a court notice should check the official Courts Service information and contact the relevant court office if clarification is required. These announcements are administrative updates and do not replace legal advice.

Judgments and Determinations service returns online

The Courts Service has confirmed that the Judgments and Determinations service is available again on courts.ie following essential unplanned maintenance. A new service has been developed with accessibility and security in mind, giving court users access to more than 22,000 judgments, attachments and determinations.

The restoration is significant for solicitors, barristers, researchers, journalists and members of the public who rely on published court decisions. The service had remained offline while technical work was carried out, with the Courts Service previously expecting restoration within 24 hours.

Other recent Irish court announcements

A special sitting of Tullamore Circuit Court was scheduled for 27 October to deal with criminal and other business returned for the Offaly court. The Courts Service also announced the second episode of Series 3 of the Irish Courts Podcast, titled “Sport and the Law”, which is available through Podbean.

What court users should do next

  1. Review the exact notice published for your location and court.
  2. Confirm any revised jury or hearing date before attending.
  3. Contact the relevant court office about case-specific questions.
  4. Use courts.ie for published judgments and official service information.

Why official court notices matter

Dates and sitting arrangements can change at short notice, particularly where court buildings, technical services or urgent applications are involved. The latest Courts.ie updates underline the importance of relying on official sources rather than assuming that a previous listing remains unchanged.

While agencies including gov.ie, the Department of Justice and the Courts Service publish public information, court users should use the Courts Service for case-specific listings and procedural notices. The Revenue Commissioners, Health Service Executive (HSE), An Garda Síochána and other public bodies have separate responsibilities and should not be treated as substitutes for court guidance.

Bottom line: check the latest Courts.ie updates before attending court, note the revised Waterford jury date and use the restored judgments service for official legal documents.
