CoreFX Ireland: US Biotechnology Firm Opens European Innovation Headquarters

CoreFX Ireland marks a major development in the country’s food science and biotechnology landscape. The US-based nutritional technology company has established CoreNhanced Biotechnology Limited, creating a European headquarters focused on research, technology development and commercial expansion.

Supported by Enterprise Ireland and developed in collaboration with Teagasc Moorepark, the new operation will help CoreFX advance its proprietary CoreNhanced™ platform while supporting customers and scientific partnerships across the European Union.

CoreFX Ireland strengthens food science innovation

The investment positions Ireland as CoreFX’s European centre for scientific innovation and customer collaboration. From its Irish base, the company plans to develop technologies designed to improve the performance of bioactive molecules during manufacturing, throughout product shelf life and within the body.

Ireland was selected because of its established strengths in food science, biotechnology, research collaboration and access to highly skilled scientific talent. The partnership with Teagasc Moorepark gives CoreFX access to specialist facilities and expertise in food science, nutrition and product development.

Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke TD described the investment as strategically important and said it further strengthens Ireland’s international position in biotechnology and food innovation.

New scientific team begins work

The Irish operation launches with a dedicated scientific team consisting of a Senior Scientist, Scientist and Junior Scientist. The appointments reflect CoreFX’s focus on applied research, technical excellence and developing scientific talent in Ireland.

Commercial and strategic leadership will be provided by Trevor Dunne, Managing Director of Europe. With more than 20 years of international experience across the food, flavour and nutrition sectors, he will oversee customer partnerships, European growth and market expansion.

Enterprise Ireland and Teagasc partnership

Enterprise Ireland has worked with CoreFX since 2023, supporting its European strategy, research collaborations and leadership development. The new headquarters represents the next phase of that relationship and creates a platform for long-term growth.

Teagasc Moorepark said the collaboration would combine research excellence with industry knowledge to develop value-added ingredients and the foods in which they are used. The initiative aligns with Teagasc’s strategy of turning research into practical impact through knowledge exchange and industry collaboration.

What CoreFX’s Irish expansion means

CoreFX develops nutritional technologies that address formulation challenges including stability, protection, transport, functionality, sensory performance and manufacturing efficiency. Its Irish presence is expected to improve support for European customers while helping move scientific discoveries from research into commercial products.
