AI Training Ireland: CeADAR Launches Fully Funded Prompt Engineering Course

CeADAR has launched a fully funded online prompt engineering course to help Irish professionals use generative AI safely and effectively.

AI training Ireland is becoming increasingly important as businesses adopt generative artificial intelligence across everyday operations. CeADAR, Ireland’s Centre for Applied AI, has launched a fully funded online course designed to help professionals use AI tools confidently, effectively and responsibly.

Registrations for Prompt Engineering for You opened on 7 August 2026. The course is intended for professionals at every stage of their AI journey and does not require technical or coding experience.

AI training Ireland course focuses on practical workplace skills

Developed through CeADAR’s European Digital Innovation Hub for AI programme, the course combines practical prompt design with critical evaluation of AI-generated content. Learners will explore how to work with generative AI tools for text, images, audio and video.

The programme aims to help organisations introduce AI in a way that is productive, safe and aligned with responsible business practices. It also supports the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment’s “AI – Good for Business” initiative.

What participants will learn

Across five self-paced modules, participants will study:

  • What prompt engineering is and why it matters
  • Different techniques for developing stronger prompts
  • How to create clear, precise and effective instructions for AI systems
  • How to assess the quality, limitations and risks of AI outputs
  • Responsible use of generative AI in organisational settings

Those who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion from CeADAR’s EDIH for AI programme. Funding from the European Commission and Enterprise Ireland means eligible participants can access the course without a fee.

Building confidence in generative AI adoption

CeADAR says the course is designed to address the uncertainty many professionals face when selecting and using AI tools. Its first online programme, AI for You: AI and the EU AI Act, has attracted more than 5,000 subscribers.

CeADAR Director of Innovation and Development and EDIH for AI Ricardo Simon Carbajo said the organisation wants to provide trusted guidance as companies navigate AI adoption. The new programme builds on the earlier course by focusing on practical skills that can be applied in real workplaces.

CeADAR was established in 2013 and is funded by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland. The national centre helps organisations explore, test and integrate AI into products and processes, while also supporting collaborative research, workforce development, policy advice and innovation funding.

Why prompt engineering matters for Irish organisations

Generative AI can support communication, research, content production and workflow improvement, but results depend heavily on the quality of the instructions provided. Prompt engineering helps users define objectives, supply relevant context and review outputs critically.

For Irish companies, structured AI training can complement support from Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and other public-sector innovation programmes. It can also encourage better awareness of privacy, accuracy, security and accountability when AI is used with business information.

Key takeaway

This AI training Ireland initiative gives professionals a practical route into generative AI without requiring a coding background. With enrolment open and the course available at an individual pace, Prompt Engineering for You offers a timely opportunity to build useful AI skills while keeping safety and responsible adoption at the centre.
