Argentine prop Eduardo Bello starts at tighthead, while Eli Snyman and Ben Donnell form a new second-row partnership. Martin Moloney, formerly of Exeter Chiefs, makes his competitive debut at openside flanker.
Jamie Benson is also handed his first competitive appearance for Ulster at inside centre, partnering Ben Carson in midfield. The replacements include three more potential debutants: hooker Henry Walker, prop Keynan Knox and scrum-half Matthew Devine.

McNabney will line out alongside David McCann and Moloney in a mobile back row designed to bring energy around the breakdown and carry effectively in tight areas. His comeback will be closely watched by supporters, particularly after a frustrating spell on the sidelines.
Robert Baloucoune adds international experience on the right wing, while Aitzol Arenzana-King starts on the left. The Development back impressed during pre-season, scoring four tries across Ulster’s fixtures against Edinburgh and the Ospreys.
Lowry leads a side with attacking ambition
Lowry takes the captaincy at full-back after producing a Player of the Match display against the Ospreys in Ulster’s final pre-season outing. His ability to join the attack and create space will be important against an Edinburgh defence that will be familiar with many of Ulster’s combinations.
Jack Murphy and Conor McKee form the half-back pairing, with Murphy also expected to direct Ulster’s kicking strategy and attacking shape. In the centres, Benson and Carson will look to provide a balance of creativity and physicality.
Ulster’s front row features Eric O’Sullivan at loosehead and James McCormick at hooker alongside Bello. The bench has a youthful feel, with Academy options included among the forward and backline cover.

Pre-season victory raises expectations
