Irish Courts News: Dublin Family Law Cancellations, Maintenance Update and Sitting Changes

Dublin family law cancellations, revised Irish court dates, Navan’s later start and temporary Courts.ie judgment maintenance explained.

Irish courts news is delivering several important scheduling updates for people involved in family, criminal and civil proceedings. The Courts Service has announced cancellations, revised hearing dates, altered start times and temporary website disruption affecting judgments.

Irish Courts News: Dublin Family Law Courts Cancelled

Family law proceedings at Dolphin House in Dublin were affected by repeated cancellations involving Courts 40 and 49 between 19 and 23 October 2026. The Courts Service said the courts were unable to sit on those dates, while the office remained open.

Domestic Violence applications were prioritised during the disruption. Anyone due to attend should confirm the latest position directly with the relevant Courts Service office before travelling, particularly where urgent family law or protection matters are involved.

Hearing dates and times changed across Ireland

Phoenix House Circuit Court motions

Motions listed for 14 October 2026 at Dublin’s Phoenix House Circuit Court Family List have been moved to 10 February 2027. Parties and legal representatives should update their calendars and check whether any further directions have been issued.

Navan District Court starts later

The Navan District Court sitting scheduled for Friday, 23 October 2026, was rescheduled to begin at 11:30am rather than its usual listed time. Court users should allow additional time for attendance and verify arrangements through official channels.

Sligo Circuit Court special sitting

A special sitting of Sligo Circuit Court Criminal was scheduled for Tuesday, 6 April 2027. The notice forms part of the Courts Service’s regular publication of court sittings and operational announcements.

These notices are separate from wider public-service updates issued through gov.ie and should not be confused with information from bodies such as An Garda Síochána, the Revenue Commissioners, the Health Service Executive (HSE) or the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC). Court users should rely on the Courts Service for case-specific scheduling information.

Courts.ie judgments temporarily unavailable

The Courts Service also reported that judgments, including determinations, remained offline due to essential unplanned maintenance. The service apologised for the inconvenience and indicated that access was expected to remain affected until the following week.

Until the online service is restored, solicitors, journalists and members of the public may need to contact the relevant court office or legal representative for guidance. Availability of a judgment online should not be assumed while the maintenance notice remains active.
