Ireland Unveils New Route for AI Startups to Scale Globally

Ireland has launched a specialist programme designed to help promising artificial intelligence companies move from early development to international growth. Announced by Enterprise Ireland at the International AI Summit, the Startup Ireland AI Accelerator Programme brings together major technology firms, investors, multinational companies and regional innovation organisations.

The initiative is the first specialist accelerator under Startup Ireland’s €21 million National Accelerator Programme and will be delivered by Dogpatch Labs. It places Ireland’s growing AI ecosystem at the centre of a structured 12-week pathway for founders seeking technical expertise, customers, investment and global partnerships.

A practical boost for Ireland’s AI founders

Ten selected companies will take part in the non-equity programme. Each startup will receive a named technical lead and at least three hours of one-to-one engineering support every week. The programme will also include a dedicated funding track to prepare founders for seed and Series A investment.

Participants will gain access to:

  • Technical guidance from experienced engineering teams
  • Connections with domestic and international customers
  • Investor introductions and fundraising preparation
  • Potential technology and cloud credits worth more than €1 million
  • Commercial and infrastructure support from leading technology partners

The programme also includes a two-day international visit to Paris. Founders will meet investors, customers and AI entrepreneurs in one of Europe’s most active technology centres, including through F/ai Deal Day at Station F.

Technology and investment partners

The accelerator has assembled a broad coalition of technology companies, including Analog Devices, Anthropic, Amazon, Crusoe, ElevenLabs, Fin, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Stripe and Vanta. Their contributions will vary across engineering expertise, cloud infrastructure, software tools, platform access, credits and commercial support.

An investor network featuring ACT Venture Capital, Ada Ventures, Atlantic Bridge, Cherry Ventures, Earlybird, Elkstone, Episode 1, Frontline Ventures, Lightspeed, Playfair, Singular VC and Sure Valley Ventures will support the funding process. Enterprise Ireland said no investor partner will receive privileged or exclusive access to participating companies.

Connecting startups with established industry

Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland will work together to connect participating founders with multinational companies in Ireland and overseas. That could give early-stage businesses opportunities to test products, develop commercial partnerships and access specialist knowledge.

The wider ecosystem includes research centres, universities, enterprise hubs and industry organisations such as CeADAR, ICHEC, Trinity College Dublin, UCD, PorterShed, Republic of Work, RDI Hub and GreenTech HQ. The national network is intended to support recruitment while giving founders access to sector expertise beyond Dublin.

Part of a wider national startup strategy

Startup Ireland is a cross-government initiative led by Enterprise Ireland. Its 2026–2030 ambitions include supporting 1,000 new startups, ensuring that 35% of supported businesses are female-led and increasing by 20% the number of startups reaching €1 million in turnover.

The AI accelerator reflects a broader effort to help Irish companies build for international markets from the beginning. Rather than offering only mentoring, it combines technical delivery, customer access, investment readiness and multinational connections in one programme.

What the programme could mean for Ireland

The accelerator gives selected founders a concentrated opportunity to strengthen products, validate demand and prepare for international expansion. It may also help Ireland deepen links between its multinational technology base and locally founded companies.

For the wider startup ecosystem, the key takeaway is clear: access to infrastructure, engineering talent, customers and capital is becoming increasingly important as AI competition intensifies. The success of the programme will ultimately depend on how effectively those connections translate into durable companies, commercial revenue and international scale.
