Enterprise Ireland AI Accelerator: New Programme Targets Global Startup Growth

Ireland is strengthening its position in the international technology sector with the launch of the Enterprise Ireland AI Accelerator, a specialist programme designed to help Irish artificial intelligence startups develop, secure investment and expand into global markets.

Enterprise Ireland announced the Startup Ireland AI Accelerator Programme on 14 October 2026 during the International AI Summit. It is the first specialist accelerator delivered through Startup Ireland’s €21 million National Accelerator Programme.

Enterprise Ireland AI Accelerator brings major technology partners together

Delivered by Dogpatch Labs, the 12-week, non-equity programme will connect ten selected companies with more than 30 technology, investor and ecosystem partners. The coalition includes Analog Devices, Anthropic, Amazon, Crusoe, ElevenLabs, Fin, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Stripe and Vanta.

Participating founders will receive practical support aimed at turning promising products into internationally competitive businesses, including:

  • At least three hours of individual engineering support each week
  • A named technical lead for every selected company
  • Access to customers, investors and industry expertise
  • Support preparing for seed and Series A funding
  • Potential technology and cloud credits worth more than €1 million in total

The Enterprise Ireland AI Accelerator is intended to give founders access to infrastructure, specialist tools and commercial networks while allowing them to retain full equity in their businesses.

International access through Paris visit

The programme will also include a two-day international trip to Paris, one of Europe’s leading AI centres. Startups will connect with investors, customers and founders, including through the F/ai Deal Day event at STATION F.

IDA Ireland collaboration to support commercial partnerships

Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland will work together to connect participating startups with multinational companies in Ireland and overseas. The collaboration is expected to create opportunities involving prospective customers, technical knowledge and commercial partnerships.

The initiative reflects a broader public-sector focus on innovation, enterprise development and international trade. Alongside Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland, Ireland’s wider business and research landscape includes agencies such as the Central Bank, CSO, Higher Education Authority and Solas, although the accelerator’s delivery partners are specifically identified in the announcement.

Startup Ireland’s national ambitions

Startup Ireland is a cross-government initiative led by Enterprise Ireland. Its 2026–2030 goals include supporting 1,000 new startups, ensuring that 35% of supported businesses are female-led, increasing by 20% the number reaching €1 million in turnover and strengthening Ireland’s position as a globally connected innovation hub.

What the Enterprise Ireland AI Accelerator means for founders

For early-stage AI companies, the programme combines technical mentorship with investor preparation and market access. Its non-equity structure may be particularly significant for founders seeking specialist support without giving up ownership at an early stage.

The partner network spans global technology providers, venture capital firms and regional organisations, including research centres, universities, enterprise hubs and major employers. This national approach is designed to improve access to expertise and ensure that recruitment reaches founder communities across Ireland.

Key takeaway

The Enterprise Ireland AI Accelerator marks a significant addition to Ireland’s startup support system. By combining engineering assistance, cloud resources, investor connections, multinational access and international exposure, the programme aims to help Irish AI founders build companies capable of competing globally from Ireland.
