The headline fixture in Division 1A takes place at Castle Avenue, where Old Wesley face Clontarf in their first Energia All-Ireland League meeting. The game also marks Old Wesley’s return to the top division after more than 29 years, making it a significant occasion for the Donnybrook club and its supporters.

Defending champions St Mary’s College start their campaign away to Lansdowne in a Dublin derby. The teams have already met this season in the Leinster Senior Cup final, where Lansdowne claimed victory, adding extra edge to Saturday’s league meeting.
St Mary’s will want to begin their title defence strongly, while Lansdowne will look to build on their recent cup success. With local pride and early league points at stake, it is one of the standout fixtures in the opening round.
Elsewhere in Division 1A, Cork Constitution host Terenure College, who reached last season’s semi-finals. Young Munster welcome Old Belvedere to Tom Clifford Park, while Ballynahinch entertain UCD at Ballymacarn Park.
Promoted clubs face major tests across the divisions
Division 1B also begins with a landmark fixture, as MU Barnhall make their first appearance in Division 1. Their campaign starts with an all-Leinster trip to Stradbrook to face Blackrock College.
Dublin University, who narrowly missed out on promotion last season, travel to City of Armagh. Instonians visit Garryowen in a meeting between two sides that challenged near the top of the table last year. Highfield face relegated Nenagh Ormond in a Munster derby, while Naas host UCC.
Galwegians return to Division 2A
Galwegians are back in Division 2A after a seven-year absence and begin against Dungannon. The clubs met in Division 2B just over a year ago, but this encounter carries greater significance as both look to establish themselves in the higher division.
Shannon and Queen’s University get the division underway at 1pm at the Thomond Park Back Pitch. Queen’s arrive after relegation from Division 1B, while newly promoted UL Bohemian travel to Cashel for a Munster contest.
Ballymena face Greystones at Eaton Park, and Wanderers make the trip west to meet Galway Corinthians in a fixture with a history of close and memorable games.
New chapter for Enniskillen in Division 2B North
Enniskillen will make their Energia All-Ireland League debut in the restructured Division 2B North. They begin at home against Rainey in a fixture that will be broadcast live on Irish Rugby+, giving the club a national platform on an important day.
There are further first-time meetings as Ballyclare host Sligo. Clogher Valley welcome Malahide to The Cran, Malone take on Banbridge in an Ulster derby, and Skerries host Navan at Holmpatrick.
Munster rivalries take centre stage in Division 2B South
Bruff make their first visit to Dubarry Park in almost 14 years when they face Buccaneers. Both teams will see the fixture as an opportunity to establish an early position in the restructured competition.
Bective Rangers and Old Crescent meet at Energia Park for the first time since 2017, while Dolphin host Enniscorthy in a rematch of last season’s contest. Monkstown face Clonmel in another rivalry that has regularly produced competitive encounters.
The opening programme concludes with an all-Munster meeting at Shannonside, where Thomond welcome Midleton. With so many new pairings, promoted clubs and returning sides involved, the first round should provide an early measure of form across the Energia All-Ireland League.
