Digital Hub Dublin is preparing for a busy September, combining Culture Night events in the Liberties with a new opportunity for specialists developing community-focused artificial intelligence projects. The programme highlights how Dublin 8 continues to bring together technology, creativity, education and local participation.
Digital Hub Dublin hosts Culture Night 2026 events
On Friday, 18 September, The Digital Hub campus will welcome visitors for a varied Culture Night programme. Events across the historic Dublin 8 site include music, photography, sustainable fashion and creative community activities.
Electronic music and synthesizer showcase
Bloop Groop Dublin will host an evening dedicated to synthesizers and electronic music in Studio 2 at 10–13 Thomas Street. Running from 5pm to 10.15pm, the programme includes an exploration of synthesizer history, demonstrations of live hardware performance and practical sessions for people at different levels of experience.
The event will also feature short performances from resident artists. Arturia’s World Tour 2026 forms part of the evening, while the programme is supported by The Digital Hub and connected with the FLUX Dublin creative network.
Photography exhibition at Digital Depot
Dublin Camera Club will present Members Portfolios at Digital Depot from 5pm to 9pm. The exhibition marks the club’s 80th year and showcases work from photographers with a wide range of interests and experience.
Visitors can discover the work of one of Ireland’s longest-established photography organisations, which supports its members through exhibitions, talks, competitions, workshops and courses.
Clothes swap and scrap store
Change Clothes Dublin will run two late-night activities at its Digital Depot workspace from 4pm to 9pm: a clothes swap and a scrap store. Participants may bring up to five good-condition clothing items and receive tokens for the swap. A €7 administration fee applies when checking out with items.
The scrap store will offer affordable materials for sewing, crafting and upcycling, with small and medium boxes priced at €7 and €14 respectively.

AI for Communities residency opens applications
The Digital Hub has also announced an open call for its four-month “AI for Communities – Empowering People Through AI” residency. The initiative aims to develop and pilot a community-centred approach to artificial intelligence learning and engagement.
Applications are invited from individuals or multidisciplinary teams with experience in areas such as:
- AI literacy and emerging technologies
- Community engagement and education
- Digital innovation
- Social innovation
The selected resident designer or facilitator will receive a VAT-inclusive fee of €12,000. Applications must be submitted by 23:59 Irish time on Friday, 9 October 2026.
