Food Ireland has plenty to celebrate this September as Brickyard in Dundrum marks its 10th anniversary with a month-long programme of wings, barbecue, craft beer and live entertainment.
Rather than limiting the birthday to one evening, the popular gastropub is filling four weekends with special events designed to showcase the food, drinks and independent spirit that have shaped its first decade.
Brickyard’s 10th-anniversary events
Wing Fest returns
The celebrations begin with a special birthday edition of Wing Fest, running from 10 to 13 September. The Brickyard kitchen team will bring back popular options including duck wings and vegetarian cauliflower wings, alongside much-loved sauces and new flavours created for the occasion.
The event follows a successful Wing Fest earlier in the year and is expected to appeal to both regular customers and visitors looking for a lively addition to Dublin’s food scene.
Birthday party and outdoor barbecue
Saturday, 19 September is the main 10th birthday celebration, with live music, pints, cocktails and a party atmosphere throughout the venue.
The celebrations continue on Sunday, 20 September, when the kitchen moves outdoors for a daytime barbecue beneath the canopy. The grills will operate in all weather, offering a relaxed afternoon of barbecue food, drinks and birthday festivities.
Bricktoberfest brings German-inspired flavours
The month concludes with Bricktoberfest on Saturday, 26 September. Guests can expect steins, bratwurst, an Oktoberfest-inspired menu and a broad selection of German beers.
The annual event has become an established part of Brickyard’s calendar and reflects the venue’s long-standing interest in independent and interesting beer.
“We wanted September to feel like a proper celebration,” said co-owner Simon Moore, explaining that the programme brings back popular events while giving customers plenty of opportunities to enjoy food and a pint together.
A decade of food and independent beer in Dundrum
Simon Moore and Erwin Pollard founded Brickyard alongside sister coffee shop Grindstone in September 2016. From the beginning, the businesses focused on quality food, Irish and artisan suppliers, and independent craft beer.
Brickyard’s original restaurant-led menu has evolved into the elevated comfort food and gastropub favourites associated with the venue today. A significant renovation in 2023 also helped bring the space closer to the founders’ original vision.
Its beer programme has remained central to the business. Brickyard chose to remain independent rather than accept financial support from major breweries, allowing it to maintain an extensive and changing selection for local customers.
The business later developed its own beer range through a brewing partnership with 57 The Headline in 2019. The range now includes seven Brickyard beers on draught, with selected varieties also available in bars and off-licences around Ireland. The brewing operation is entering a new phase as Brickyard Brewing Co., with updated branding planned for the 10th anniversary.

From one Dundrum venue to a growing coffee business
Grindstone has also expanded beyond its original Dundrum site, opening locations at Dublin Landings in 2024 and Bolands Mills in 2025.
