For candidates preparing for State Examinations 2026, the written exam timetable begins on Wednesday 3 June 2026.
- Leaving Certificate written exams: 3 June to 23 June 2026
- Leaving Certificate Applied written exams: 3 June to 11 June 2026
- Junior Cycle written exams: 3 June to 15 June 2026
- Leaving Certificate oral exams: 28 March to 2 April 2026
The SEC has also confirmed that candidates who are ill or bereaved may, subject to supporting evidence, be considered for a later oral examination in late May.
